Overview
Ready for indoor photography in a unique photography studio? Get professional results without worrying about the weather or the golden hour. Studio52North is the largest studio available to the public in Central Connecticut, measuring approximately 36×48 feet. It features a 12-foot-wide cyclorama (“cyc wall”), perfect for shooting high-key studio images.
Are you a natural light shooter and not ready for studio strobes? Studio52 North has ample natural light with 4 large 15′ x 12′ West facing windows. Are you a strobist at heart? Strobe lighting with light modifiers are available for rental. These include, but are not limited to, Three Alien Bee 800s. Two are light stand mounted and one is boom mounted over the cyclorama. All three have large Paul C Buff soft boxes. The rental charge for the strobe lights is $50 per rental, 4 hours or all day. Please contact Studio52North for any custom lighting needs.
The Studio is located on the second floor with NO elevator access. Please keep this in mind when planning your project. Rental also includes use of our custom-built hair and makeup counter and dressing room. Props in the studio can also be used. A backdrop stand kit and rolling wardrobe rack are also available.
Amenities & Rates
Studio52North provides a number of amenities to maximize your rental experience, including a Styling Station, Wardrobe, Full Length Mirror, Props, Dressing Room & Bathroom. You can also capitalize on the building’s industrial exterior, free parking, and easy access to nearby restaurants.

Note: There is no air conditioning or elevator access to the studio.
In the summer, morning rentals are much cooler.
A minimum block of four hours is required to book the studio. Any part of an hour thereafter is billed at the next full hour. All first time clients must complete an orientation during their first rental. Prices subject to change.
Weekday Rates (Monday – Friday)
$20 per hour, 4 hour minimum. ($80.00)
Weekend Rates (Saturday – Sunday)
$30 per hour, 4 hour minimum. ($120.00)
Strobe Rental Rates
After Hours – Weekdays $40 per Hour
After Hours – Weekends $60 per Hour

Terms & Conditions
Studio52North designed the following policies and studio rules, including rules listed here and guidelines posted in the studio areas to ensure a safer and more enjoyable environment in which to host your shoot. So, please be thoughtful and observe the Policies and Rules that you, and all clients, have agreed to follow. Studio52North may, in its sole discretion, modify the Policies and Rules without any notice at any time. It’s your responsibility to know and follow the most current Policies and Rules. All approved signs posted in a studio or on the premises shall be considered a part of the Policies and Rules of Studio52North.
Equal Opportunity Policy Statement
Studio52North maintains rental privilages without regard to race, religion, marital status, sex, or sexual orientation. All clients shall have full and equal access to the studio facility.
Prohibited Items and Activities
No Alcohol, Drugs, and no Smoking: You cannot engage in any activity at Studio52North while under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol.
No Weapons: No weapons are permitted in the studio without written consent from Studio52North.
No Pornography: No photography, videography, and/or audio of explicit sexual acts are permitted.
Misconduct: Including causing a nuisance to other clients, mistreatment of Studio52North staff, illegal activity, destruction/vandalism of Studio52North equipment or facilities.
Violation of Policies or Rules
If any client or guest violates any of the Policies or Rules, Studio52North will ask that person to stop or leave. A member’s violation of any of the Policies or Rules may cause Studio52North, in its sole discretion, to terminate that person’s rental privileges and/or other agreements.
Booking Rates & Policies
Event Rates vary based on a variety of factors including type, size, space, & more. Please contact rental@studio52north.com for a custom quote.
Studio52North requires a four (4) hour minimum rental.
Bookings that are extended after 10pm Weekdays (Sunday – Thursday) and 11pm Weekends (Friday & Saturday) are charged at double the normal rate. This includes run-over time.
Payment in full is required when reserving the studio.
Studio52North does not accept checks or money orders.
Studio52North will make every effort to be open during inclement weather. If we are unable to open the studio due to weather, we will credit your account and apply it to a rescheduled booking. If the studio is open and you cannot make it to the studio for your shoot, notify the studio with at least twelve (12) hours prior to the start of your booking; credit amount will be determined at that time.
Your booking should include set up, break down, and clean up time. This includes but is not limited to setting up lights, makeup/hair prep, packing up, returning props, and check out. If you or anyone else involved in your shoot is occupying the studio area you will be charged for it.
If the studio is available, you may enter the studio before your scheduled shoot time. You will be charged for that time in addition to your initially booked time, even if you end early.
We will make every effort to accommodate shoots that run over the booked time. If no one has booked the studio after you, you may extend your time in the studio. You will be charged at the normal studio rental rate. You are not guaranteed overtime, so you should make every effort to finish your shoot during your booked time. Over time is at the staff’s discretion.
Studio time is prorated in 60 minute intervals, rounded up.
If you are recording audio during a shoot, please be aware that we cannot control the amount of ambient noise in the studio.
Studio52North reserves the right to change the rental rates at any time.
Studio52North reserves the right to increase rental fees for events. What constitutes an event is at our discretion. Please contact rental@studio52north.com if you would like to receive event pricing.
Booking Cancellations
Cancellations are as outlined below. To cancel your booking, send a text to 860-919-1603 , including the name on the booking, date, and time. You will receive a return text.
Cancellation Times are from the Start Time of the Booking. Percentages are based on the total amount of booking.
For cancellation more than 7 days before shoot: 100% refund
For cancellation 5-7 days before shoot: 100% credit towards a future shoot
For cancellation 3-5 days before shoot: 75%% credit towards a future shoot
For cancellation 48-72 hours before shoot: 50% credit towards a future shoot
For cancellation 24-48 hours before shoot: 25% credit towards a future shoot
For cancellation within 24 hours before shoot: no refund or credit
Studio Rules
First time Clients will be required to receive a short orientation to the studio and the equipment. Orientation takes about 5 minutes and will complete by the beginning of your booking time.
No food or beverages are permitted within the studios with the exception of water. You may utilize the community lounge area for enjoying your refreshments.
Do not stand, run, sit, etc. on the curve of the cyc wall. It is hollow and will not support weight.
Clients are responsible for all damages caused during the rental. These charges are at the discretion of Studio52North.
Clean up fees may be applied if the studio is left in an overly messy state including body paint, glitter, elements, etc. This is at the staff’s discretion.
Props including furniture may be used. Please ask staff for assistance moving furniture onto and off of the cyc wall, if necessary. You are expected to leave the studio as you found it. Please do not slide any furniture on the floor.
Do not enter studio spaces without permission from staff. Studio52North staff may enter any part of the studio at any time.
Animals: Must have written consent from Studio52North. All animals must have a handler at all times. The handler must have this as their sole position for the shoot.
Minors: Persons under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian with them at all times.
Messy Shoots: Any shoot that may become “messy” including but not limited to Glitter, Oil, Water, Mud, Food, Snow, etc must be approved by Studio52North in advance. Additional cleanup fees may apply.
Studio furniture and props are available on a first come first serve basis
Disclaimers
Studio52 North is in no way responsible for loss or damage to client-owned equipment, including cameras, lenses, lights, modifiers, and/or any other personal property.
Studio52North is in no way responsible or liable for any personal injury or personal property damage incurred on the premises or while attending a Studio52 North workshop or any partnered events. Items left at the studio and not claimed within two weeks become property of Studio52North.
Acknowledgement
This Agreement, including all documents referenced herein, represents the entire understanding between Studio52North and any user of Studio52North; including clients, members, non-members, staff of clients, friends, and family, and supersedes any other agreements, statements or representations. Headings used in this Agreement are for reference only and shall not affect the meaning of any terms. Any user of any portion of Studio52 North is deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
